Material for Sun Screen

I'm looking for a place to buy screening to make a sun shade we can hang off our awning. I know people that have made them for around $30- $40. Unfortunately, they all said they buy the screen fabric down south or in Florida and I live just outside of Buffalo, NY.

I found some nice blue solar screen online that would look great with our awning but at $1.37/sq ft it's a little out of my league. I'm looking for material that's a min. of 60" wide - would prefer 96" and 30 ft long (so I can do side screens too). Anyone know of an online site that sells screen material at a good price?

Or, since I'll be in Ft Myers in October, do you know of any stores down that way I could try

I believe you can get the material from FarmTek at a reasonable price. Just Google them!

We've been looking for material also. Lowe's carries sun screen, but it is only 6' widths. They have 15 linear feet packaged, or you can buy it off the roll by the running foot for less than 2 bucks per foot. We'll probably end up going this route, as a six foot screen would be plenty for us.

I've been looking into sunscreens also, found a site with pre-made ones with staking equipment for around $.75 to $1.00 sq/ft (Depending on the size) at: AWNING DRAPES

We got ours at Beasley MFG., Inc, Center Hill, Fl 33514 - 352.793.5055.
No connections to me.

Note: If you are going to put side curtains on your awning remember to measure your liner feet from the top edge closest to the trailer to the bottom edge closest to the ground and farthest from the trailer. It hangs on an angle and you need to cut the material that way.

Best of luck.
Cheers,

I use Lowes and have the 6' pieces sewn together at an awning shop. I also have them put in a hem around the edges so I can run a plastic covered wire through it to hang it up.

Shade cloth for greenhouses would work. Any greenhouse supply co. will carry it.

We did Beasley also. Got four sides for our open air kitchen at our campground at home also. Best prices we could find anywhere. Dan

No one answers at that phone number. I saw on one site that they are only open Nov - March. Do you know if this is true?
