Seeking Tire Recomendations

Going to replace my OEM tires on a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 V-10 4X4 Quad Cab SB
Tires are original Michellin LTX A/S (LT265/75/R16/E) they have been dependable, but are showing their age after 7 years. They are quiet on the roads, but really don't do that well in the snow, and slush we have here in the "Snow Belt".

Would like some opinions on tires that will perform well in snow, and occasional off road use, but are not extremely noisy, on dry roads (I guess some sort of combination tread tire?)

Would like to keep the same Tire size, and load rating. I don't want to have to calculate the speedometer difference for a different sized tire.

Any advice, or opinions will be welcomed.

JP

I think you provided your answer. If they lasted seven years, why in the world would you consider anything else??????

The main reason I'm thinking of changing from the exact model is because of the snow handling ( we get 4-5 months of snowfall in Central New York), I wouldn't have a problem staying with Michellins, just a different tread style maybe.

The main reason the tires have lasted 7 years is I only have less than 40K on them, the tread is still legal (just passed state inspection), but they're starting to show some bulges, and possible cracking on the sidewalls. Figured it was good time to change them out before the first snowfall.

I have been using Michelin M/S on work and personal vehicles for years myself. I would not consider another tire for them. TV for Monty is a little different though, it came with General's with a tires for life deal. When I am eligible for new tires, I can pay the difference to upgrade. M/S's will be purchased I can assure you.

jpbcny,

The LT265/75R16E Michelin LTX M/S would be an excellent choice, they offer a little more traction than the A/S and still have a very high mileage rating. Michelin also has one called A/T2, but I don't know much about them as I have only sold 1 set. They are a little more agressive than the A/T but not so much as to cause road noise.

My personnal prefference is the Bridgestone Dueler REVO A/T. They are a dual rubber composition like the Michelins, so they should get pretty high mileage and they cost around 20 bucks less per tire, than the Michelins. I have sold several sets in the last few months, and everyone I have sold them to says they are great. I also have them on my own truck and am very pleased with their performance thus far.

I ran the Toyo Open Country A/T's for 50,000 miles. They were good on snow, ice, and wet roads. I just put the new Goodyear Wrangler Pro Grade's on last week. They already have 1,000 miles on them and after adjusting the tire pressure a few times, they are riding much better now.
