Annual Complete Once Over!

Today I picked up the 3750 after its annual inspections of all facets of the coach. Did find a couple problems, but after 30,000 miles the Montana is holding up very well. We replace factory carpets, worn wood trim and some minor cosmetic items. Plastic door tie downs had faded and I replaced any trim that looked faded or sun bleached. Replaced every exterior bulb with brighter LEDs. Replaced a tired pump motor and upgraded the breakers for slides and leveling systems. They did a frame inspection which involved removing much of the front facade. No cracks, or stress noted. Had an alignment, brakes and replaced any worn suspension components. While many complain about quality of today's RV's, I am and remain impressed the Montana has performed this well. I noted based on our travels and few nights at the same park, our slides on the 3750 have cycled nearly 415 times. That's a lot of component use in my opinion. I had some worn cables in front slides and had them replace as well as seals. Same for the six point system, replaced anything that might become a problem. Altogether this years bill was $3875.00. G14's still look like new after 14,000 miles. I think my Montana has done well. Tomorrow the minions wash wax and seal the exterior. Any others have a yearly once over?

We have ours serviced once a year in the spring. Not as extensive, but still try to cover most things.

I try to go over our rig myself at least once a year but not to the extent of disassembling anything to look for a problem but do keep an eye on how much things flex when I hook up or unhook. As far as minor things I just repair them as they appear as I hate having things pile up. A bill of $3875. would be hard for me to swallow so I do most repairs out of warranty myself.

Since I am not very handsome I work harder at being handy!!!

I use a keystone dealer and a great place in Redding Called AllWheel and RV repair. They specialize in multi axle RVs. They have all the equipment for frame work Etc. Someone commented on cost. Yes it's a big bill, however in the grand scheme of things it's pretty cheap, considering mileage on the rig. Our extended GS warranty picked up over half. Plus my rig is sound!

I just inspect things all the Time as I am retired and Fulltiming and have nothing better to do,Only thing I have had to fix is a broken Pantry shelf and I just had to tear the under belly off and take the Black Tank valve out and clean stuck toilet tissue in there because it was Leaking and not closing all the way THAT WAS FUN

I am staying intimate with mine by fixing stuff and sealing holes that I hadn't found before in my quest to keep the mice at bay. Just got my new shower pan installed after discovering that the oem shower drain was also cracked and replaced with metal bar sink drain assembly from lowe's. Also converted from that flapper drain assembly to 1.5" pvc ptrap also from lowes. Bathroom looked huge with only sink and comode in there. John

Lol I guess I am little surprised people thought little less than $4k in three years of service is a lot of money. With the miles and usage, I felt that was more than reasonable. I guess it's perspective. I spent $30k year keeping my boat in the water, so RVs are a bargain ! Lol

No this year was most ever. Last year $300.00 as I remember. This year the cosmetic stuff and component replacements, brake job etc added more. Carpets were kept factory as original on purpose, mainly for resale but expensive via Keystone. We decided to order our new fiver late next year, wanted this unit looking and operating at her best. My list for this year included ***retty comprehensive frame inspection, tank and water/sewer inspection . I wanted to make sure to document any unusual wear or find any potential safety issues. We plan to use it extensively before selling it.

That's right I believe you also said your home theater system cost as much as your rv. Sweet.... So I guess 30k for boat docking is not a big deal at all.

Lol not my home theater, must been another crazy member? 45 ft boat is expensive to own. It's between yearly insurance surveys, maintenance on twin diesels, dock fees, insurance premium, broken things, bottom paint and everything in between 30 k is lite! Two happiest days of your life as they say!
