Campground around Ft Meyers Florida

We have decided to go to Florida for 5 weeks beginning around January 11th. I have been calling campgrounds in the Ft Meyers area and every place I've called is booked for that time period. Does anyone know of a campground in that area tthat is nice and that may have openings in January and February. Our preference would be to be fairly close to the Gulf. Thanks

You should have started looking a year ago. I'm not trying to be funny, finding quality campgrounds here has gotten tougher and tougher in winter.

Have you tried here? It is located in North Fort Myers right off of the I75 exit.

I live in Fort Myers area.

Not located in Fort Myers, but within 30 minutes. They just expanded.

It is getting tough in Florida. Our park will not take a seasonal reservation for less than two months. Folks put their deposit down for the following winter/site before they leave in the Spring. Between boomers and Canadians, business is booming (no pun intended).

We are over by st George island at cape San blas and we have a rv lot that is not in an rv park. Full hookups and beach front on a dog friendly beach. They have some monthly sites I think. Check at capesanblasvacationrentals.com. Long way to fort Myers.

We stay every winter in riverside rv resort just outside port charlotte, 5 miles east of the interstate. They may have something if you tell them you are willing to move around when/where they have empty sites. All sites are back in sites and then are three areas. Original rv park, mid section, and the lakes section...which is the newest area. 510 or so sites now. John

Thanks for all the suggestions. I found a spot in Naples for the dates we were looking for.
