Glacier National Park Campground
Does anyone have a suggestion for campgrounds on the western side of Glacier National Park around Kalispell or closer to the park? Thanks.

We enjoyed staying at the Mountain Meadows Campground in Hungry Horse and I would highly recommend it. That is definitely where we would go back for any return visit to Glacier.

We loved the West Glacier KOA. It is still one of my all time favorite "fancy" campgrounds. We splurged and paid for a patio spot that had great landscaping, a nice large patio and even a stainless full size gas grill complete with propane. Definitely worth a look.

Thanks to all for suggestions. We will look into all 3. We're 38.5 ft so the park campgrounds, if they are like Yellowstone may be tight. We looked at he KOA and you're right they are proud of it. Did not know about Hungry horse.

We also stayed at Mountain Meadows Campground in Hungry Horse and enjoyed the park and the access to the park.

I just happen to have one photo of our campsite at Mountain Meadows in Glacier. Notice that the sites are "terraced" and have vegetation between. It was very private and the sites are L O N G !

Make a reservation early, we are here at Glacier now. We tried making a reservation 2 days in advance and the parks near the park were full. We are staying in Sundance campground. This a rustic camping campground among the pine trees. Water and electric (50/30), no sewer. We have enjoyed our stay. This does not match a resort but is a good campground. Considerably less than the KoA.

We've stayed twice at San-Suz-Ed at West Glacier. We like how close it is to the entrance of the park.
