Ocala, Florida Area

I know most campgrounds in this area are full this time of year. We are looking at the Ocala area for the first week in March for about 8-10 days. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We stay here, close to most especially harbor freight. Usually has openings.

We were able to get a site on short notice last year for the first week of March at Wilderness Rv Resort. No complaints with the park.

We rode through Wilderness RV park last year. It is in Ocala. Very clean, neat, agree seemed like a nice park.

Wilderness RV Park in Ocala, Fl

We stayed at Wilderness a few years ago for 6 weeks and it is a very nice park.

The only problem at Wilderness is some of the interior roads are very narrow and can be challenging getting into your site. They did have someone bring you to your site and help you.

I would stay there again..

The Grand Oaks RV Resort in Lady Lake is a bit pricey but certainly a place to enjoy.

I stayed at Ocala Sun last year as a stopover on the way to Key Largo. It was fine, nothing special. Seems to get decent ratings. Plenty of room and no issues getting a spot during late March

Ditto on the Springs RV Resort. $515 /month. Includes sewer and water. Nice Park, lots of activities. We leave 3/8 so there will be at least one site available. Actually there are quite a few sites. Try to get one "in the country area"

One could also try Silver River State Park in Silver Springs.

All booked up. Reservations need to be made on line and it's full through March with the exception of a few single days.

Figures. That is an age old problem down here. I remember back in my working years when all our camping was done on weekends, we Floridians had to book camping spots in state parks a year in advance. Our group had to sit down each time we went out and plan where we were going to try for the following year. We got good at long term planning!
