This is soooo shamless on my part..... forgive me.
Okay, this is absolutely shameless , but I'm doing it anyways. I absolutely promise I will go to church tomorrow and confess my sin.
Our local newspaper puts on a contest every year to have readers vote for their favorite businesses in our town. Each year the business Doug owns and operates comes in second. It's always the big advertiser in the newspaper who comes in first place. Just once before my hubby retires I'd like to see his shop come in first. This is a last minute idea on my part as voting stops today at 5pm PST.
So, this is the shameless part.... If you want to help, please go to the link and fill in the 48 questions. Below is a guide if you want to help me, with the ones in bold type being of interest to me.
Don't forget to also go to church tomorrow.
Edit: Our daughter works at #12....

It's number 11 on the questionnaire but you have to fill in the whole questionnaire for it to count. That's why I included some help for all the questions if you were going to vote.
Thanks!

Okay I did it. Actually I've eaten at a couple of the places so it wasn't totally a sin. LOL So, Margee, my payment will be that ice cream we are going to sneak out for in Shasta!
Happy trails.....................

Shameless?! Yes, but I like it!
I voted too, Yes I did vote for Center City, And yes...I have had autowork done there. Besides any guy who can put on a red suit and visit kids during the holidays deserves all the support we can give him!!!!!!
Now about the ice-cream, Can I sneak too? Any flavor would be good for me.

Ok, I confess, I did it to. I guess if all of you are going to confess then it couldn't be all that bad. Besides Doug cooks the best breakfast so I figure this is payment given...Kathi

Margee, you have to remember this is advertising, not a true contest. Thus the only true winner is the paper, more circulation equals higher profits. This has been done in our area for the last 15 years or so. There is nothing wrong in asking for a little help.
Good Luck,
Chuck

...*LOL.. yes you are right.... it's all about advertising (& more profits) for the newspaper because the newspaper will go around to anyone who was voted for and ask them to pay for advertising in the special edition they will have about the contest.
But, it'd still be nice for Doug to "be the bride and not a bridesmaid" once before he retires. We are a small town and it does actually mean a bit of prestige for the winners of the categories.
Anyways.... thanks to anyone who read this and/or voted. I hope I gave a few of you a good laugh with my "shameless request".

As usual I liked it. Nothing better than being humble and asking for a little help from friends. Yes I voted, Yes I voted for most of your suggestions. When it came to our topic (veterinarian, or was it animal clinic) I had to vote for ours. I did put in our city and state.
Good Luck
Chuck
PS yes you are also right in that it feels good to be recognized.
We've won the last 4 years.
