Lack of door side windows?
Hello to everyone, we are in the hunt for an upgrade to a 5th wheel bunkhouse.
The wife noticed on many 5er bunkhouse there are no to few Windows on the door side.
Is that a problem or are we thinking too much?
Thanks,
Ed
Ps
Looking at the high country 358bh. As well as the jayco and open range 3x427.
They all have a ton of Windows on the off door side.

I think typically lack of windows on the door side is due to the kitchen being on that side. Ours is like that. Not a particular problem. But when we buy again, it will be with the kitchen on the street side, and more windows on the door side since that is where we are when outside, and the door side looks onto our sitting area rather than our neighbors area.

I think you have to picture yourself living in it and how you park at places with views, like state and federal parks etc. We have the windows on the door side, but almost nothing usable on the street side so we look for camping sites with door side views. I know from our rejections that there are plenty out there with street side views it's just a matter of reserving the site that works for you. Since most of that can be done online nowdays with even maps to guess from you can usually find what you want if you reserve early enough.

In our travels we are parked every which way so it makes no difference were the windows are.We never even thought of it.

On our other Montana there were no windows on one side. The problem with that is you do not get any cross ventilation. Summer is no problem because you are running the AC. Spring and Fall is different.

I suppose it would depend on the floor plan. For example a kitchen with a lots of appliances and cabinets on that wall doesn't leave much room for windows.
We actually looked for windows on either side for our rig preference. The fridge is on one side with the table and chairs (a natural place to put a window at the table). The irony is that DW hates that when we sit at the table enjoying a meal, she dislikes that passerbys can peer inside, so the day/night shades are always down.
On the other side was the range and microwave and next to that the kitchen sinks (another good place for a curb/doorside window). The sacrifice was cabinet space, but we have been able to work with that.

I like windows on the back of a camper. That is why I like a RL camper.

Our 365REQ has in our estimation the absolute best window set up. The entertainment center is across the back, but the TV rises out of the credenza, so when not watching the tube you have the lovely view out the back. The big slide is on the curb side, with windows all the way down. The street side slide has 3 big windows, which all together gives us a wide panorama if the view to the back is open. We love it.

Our model has 1 "real" window (discounting the bedroom slide) on the street-side. That is blocked whenever the television is raised, which is usually. Sometimes it's a problem, like when you want to spy on your neighbors over there :-), but a cross-breeze would be nice once in awhile. I'm not a big AC guy. I'd much rather have the windows open, whenever possible. That said, you adjust and I couldn't be happier with my floorplan.

They. All have good and bad. Ours has large side windows and small back window, good for when you in most RV parks bad when you have a nice view out back.

Our table/chairs and love seat are in the door side slide. We have windows on the door side and back end of our 3610RL. As far as cross ventilation, we use our "attic fan". Works great for us.
