RV's and State Fairs

A time tested tradition for us has changed, and sadly nothing's going to bring it's experience back. For years, part of our State Fair trips have included going in and out of RV's for hours being able to compare design ideas and build quality from several manufacturers all in one spot. There used to be 8 - 10 dealers that participated in the Fair whose displays took up the whole NW corner of the Fair Grounds. It started mainly after 9-11, but the numbers have dwindled down to a whopping two ... count them ... two dealers this year with maybe 16 units total on display. About 5 of those were extreme entry level units. I was just speechless. At least "Miss Piggy" won her heat at the afternoon pig races.

Change always seems NOT for the better. But camping at the fair is great. We used to do it every year in Michigan until we became full time in Florida.
