2015 Montana "Correct Track" Feature

Does anyone have any experience with the Correct Track option on the new 2015 Montana's? I talked to Keystone and the trailer comes off the line with the adjustment in the "Neutral" position. Keystone then suggests that after the owner has the trailer loaded take it back to a Montana Dealer who has the proper equipment to see if they need to adjust the setting from neutral to something else? Has anyone actually done this so far?

Like some of us answered to an earlier topic, the correct track only addresses tracking of the axles to one another and to the kingpin. It does not address issues with caster or camber. I've been to several dealers over the years and none have the equipment nor expertise to properly check alignment ... they farm it out. You can accomplish a tracking check by a lazer and target or the old school way of a plumb bob and tape measure. You basically measure from the center line of the king pin to a matching location on each of the front tires. If that measurement is within specs, you measure centerline of axle to axle on each side measuring to same specs. Perhaps with the correct track feature on new Keystone as well as new SOB's, dealers will invest in the equipment and training to do a tracking check/adjustment justice instead of farming it out. I think it is too early to answer your question directly as the correct track hasn't been mass produced for very long. It has been an aftermarket add on for the past year or so.

I think at this stage of the game that this is merely eyewash to sell units...or is the correct term hogwash?

Lets don't bring farm animals into this ... Correct Track has merit and does work to adjust tracking. The issue is getting dealers to commit to its support and invest in hardware to check and adjust it.

So why didn't you add "when pigs fly", or "cold day in . . "?

Hey Guys, I am just trying to get some information that is important to me. I am not asking anyone to buy this. For your information every 2015 Montana is built with this "Mandatory option." you cannot have it as a deleted item.

Ya know I have been with this forum for a very long time. It used to be a place to exchange information, good information that helped everybody who was interested. I guess times are changing how members respond to questions. If I don't have anything positive to contribute to the discussion , I just move on, I don't try to impress anyone with my shallow personal opinions.

Bob, good question. I know they talked about it at the last rally. I pick up my new 3160 next week and I will be asking questions about the Correct Track. Don't get too upset about the responses. There is still plenty of information to be gained.

Bob ... I think this was all "tongue in cheek" and it just blew by you. Like I mentioned correct track seems to be standard on many mid to upper end SOB's as well. It is very early in the game here as how this will play out ... be patient and smile with the rest of us. It's really nothing new that many dealers simply farm out alignment issues. I know a major Camping World dealership near KCMO that doesn't even have a tire changer if that is any gauge of suspension expertise. They sell well over 100 units per month.

I found the answer to my question. As I suspected our RV dealer had no idea what to do. Went over to my alignment guy who did the alignment on my 2005. He went to the Morryde website and in 2 minutes stated this is something they do on large semi trailers, in fact the procedure is almost identical. He caution me that this does not do anything for toe-in or toe-out, caster or camber of the wheels. It really only adjusts the relationship of tire to tire. He also stated that it would be a good time to check axle alignment.

Bye Jiminey ... your alignment guy told you the same thing replies to your post pointed out. Your Welcome.
Sorry about spouting off, I would have asked around the same. Some of us on here do know what we are talking about ... your current experience is testament to that.
