Mine has burned out once in 7 years. Do you leave it on at night?

What bulb is in your fixture? If it is an automotive type bulb, try to find the type designated Long Life. Many times, they are not imported, but made in USA. Sylvania is one brand I have used, and they definitely hold up much longer. Maybe it might be time to go with an LED bulb in that light.

Do you leave it on all of the time? If not, maybe cheap bulbs, try a brand name one, weak contact in socket,or try to go with an led bulb.

I'd check the socket. We replaced ours with a motion detector LED and even though the raccoons can trigger it all night long it's lasted two years so far with the same bulb. If you can't find a problem with the wiring I'd try an LED bulb.

Mine burned out every 2 months or so because I leave them on every night so I went with LED and also put a clear lens over it instead of the Orange Looks Nice and bright and has not burned out and it has been about a year of every night use

Do you use a surge protector? We had several bulbs blow at a campground with faulty power. Luckily we didn't lose anything else. Haven't lost a bulb since we bought the surge protector.

We did purchase the long life bulb after our burned out. The bulb in our 06 3400 did not burn out in over 7 years. We do normally leave them on at night.

We've got the original (I think) bulb in ours still. Only leave it on when we're out & coming back after dark - if you're out in the boonies, why pollute with extra light!

Consider an LED. The only negative is the original cash outlay. With a little creativity you could put in two LED's get nearly twice the light and still be way under the current draw of your OEM bulb.

Yes we leave it on at night, We currently use bulbs from O'riley auto parts. I buy them by the Box about $8 for ten of them. They are called EiKO #1003 there made in Taiwan. Guess we may try a LED
Thanks everyone for your responses.

K&G. You should be able to use this light every night and it should last a while. This doesn't sound right. You might be having a problem in that circuit or the socket itself and it's running the filament too hot and this causes the bulb to burn out sooner. Maybe the bulb that's in there is NOT the correct one, then you replace it with another incorrect one and therefore keep having the same one. Long ago I learned that if the wrong bulb number is used then this could happen even though the fit is the same. I wonder if the factory ran out of the proper one, then they put in something just to get the light working and the rig sold. Did anyone confirm the bulb number as the right one? I've never replaced my bulb in 8 years of ownership so I have no clue what the number is, but I do know just because it looks the same, it's all about getting the number correct. I don't use my Monty as much as many of you but collectively that porch light has several months of overnight use.
My BIL with an Everest (older, extinct Keystone model) had blew something out on his fixture and replacing with a new bulb didn't work. He had to replace the whole fixture and that's been working so far but like me he'll have to collectively monitor this over the years. Since LEDs have comparable replacements for incandescent bulbs, don't burn these out if the the socket or fixture may be the cause. It might be best just to replace the fixture, then go from there.
