Thanks! Have done more research and photos... Lippert Components slide mechanism is problem... broken teeth on gears on one side. Found "gear pack" on Lippert's website. $95. Wonder if this is a fix/replacement that can be done while unit is on the ground or if it must be on a lift. I want to do it right, but am trying to minimize costs. Any advice appreciated.

With information learned here and a bit of research, scheduled an appt to get the gear pack installed.... but think they know I'm a savvy shopper and well think twice before overcharging me. Thanks folks.

I have replaced them while in the middle of nowhere. Use a bottle jack and some wood and with the slide out, gently lift the rail just in front of the gear pack to remove the weight from the gear pack itself. Then just take out the bolts, insert the new pack, tighten the bolts and remove the bottle jack.

I got mine for around $60 direct from the manufacturer, if I recall.

On edit, shop around. Here is a place selling them for $70

Out of curiosity, have you checked you manuals to see what the Lippert warranty is for your unit. At one time there was a two year warranty on the Lippert components, not sure about now, but it wouldn't hurt to send an e-mail or to call them.

I was told that Lippert's warranty was reduced to one year when I called about my frame problems that Keystone corrected.

It took me longer to find the jack, get the right socket and wrench than it did to replace the gear pack itself. No more than 30 minutes and I'm not a certified technician...well I'm certified, but...
