Flood Light
Last week the curbside floodlight came on of it's own accord. I tested the switch, it's ok. I removed all the fuses, light is still on. So the circuit is receiving 12v power from an unfused source. Has anyone ever experienced this problem. Keystone was of no help. I've removed the bulb for the time being. There is 12v present at the white/purple wire at the light switch with all the fuses out and the wire disconnected from the switch.

Do you have a remote control? That will turn it on

I do have a remote control, I bet that's it! I wish the folks at Keystone knew more about their product. I'm back home in CO and the trailer is in AZ. I'll check it out as soon as possible. Thanks!

wow, just had this happen to me this past weekend. didn't even think about the remote. I had to turn the power to the camper at the pedestal and took the negative off the battery to get it to turn off. Go figure.... thanks this was good if it happens again.

I did the same thing when I first bought my 2012 The solution to that is take the batteries out of the remote and CHUCK IT into the Junk drawer and that is where mine stayed in my 2012 till I traded it in on my 2015 which does not have one of those Useless things.... IMO(some Members here like them)

BTW, I also turned off every breaker and turned them back on, pulled every fuse and put them back in and turned off the switch for the battery in the convenience center and turned off the pedestal and it still stayed on. So that was when I left the power to the pedestal off and disconnected the battery and it finally turned off. When I reconnected the battery, it stayed off. I have no idea how it was stayed on.

There must be a non-fused relay that is controlled by the remote. Once activated it won't turn off until the batteries are disconnected. I'm glad I don't have a short, that really worried me. Keystone gets an "F" in customer service.
Thanks again for all the replies!

This has been covered many, many, many times before. A quick "Search" would uncover hundreds of related topics. The short answer is: If you turn the light on with the remote, you can only turn it off again using the remote.
Units with a remote control facility have an electronic "brain" mounted on the wall in the front compartment (aka garage) where the batteries are located. The "brain" always has power as it controls the landing gear and slides, The power comes directly from the batteries to the "brain" with an inline fuse (circuit breaker) located in the same area. Power to it is fused but not by the fuse panel inside the coach. Additionally, the 12V disconnect switch in the convenience center has no affect on the "brain".
There is a separate circuit from the brain to the light (and the illuminated switch). Removing the bulb still leaves a 12V charge at the light socket. The only solution to turn it off (not counting the remote) is to pull a battery cable or the 12V feed to the "brain".
Since you do have the remote, you should a "Search" for what to do when the inside switches for the jacks and slides quit working.
Hint: move the ground wire from the "brain" to the frame.

Thanks Carl n Susan for the suggestion to use the search feature. When the tech at Keystone told me they never heard of this problem before I assumed I was the first. I should have known better. If I have any problems in the future I'm going to skip the call to Keystone and go directly to the MOC search feature.

Thanks Carl, I also appreciate the explanation and the reminder to use the search feature. It makes sense now why it reset/turned off when I disconnected the battery.
