Liepert LCI Level up Six Point Leveling system

Does anyone know what type of fluid goes in the container that's in the wet bay? Mine is getting low.

Dextron auto tranny fluid. If you have popping while set-up, now would be a good time to add Torco RFF Fork Fluid 15W or the Caterpillar equivalent. A glaring question would be "why is your fluid low"? You are checking it with all slides and landing gear in I assume.

There's a "fill line" that is about inches above the current fluid level. That's where it's been since I bought the rig 6 months ago. I just figured it needs filling to the fill line. I checked it with landing gear down and slides out. Is that wrong?

I always check mine with the slides in and landing gear up. That way it seems as though the tank would be the fullest and the best time to measure. X2 on the popping. Had to remove some fluid to add the fork fluid but it did elimate the popping.

You have to check the oil level with all the slides in and the landing gear up.

What Frank and Virginia said ... all hydraulic rams have to be retracted whether it be slide rams or landing gear rams. If you don't check the level when you do retract everything ... you're reservoir may overflow after topping it off as when the rams retract ... the oil has to go somewhere. Being technical ... there is more fluid sent back to the reservoir when the rams retract than there is required to retract them. The chromed ram takes up volume on the retract side of the cylinder.

Hey Dieselguy,
Thanks for the quick explanation on why the reservoir is fuller when the rams are retracted. It makes perfect since, just never thought of it. I know its a closed system but forgot about the rams displacing fluid when inside the cylinder.

If, in fact, you do need to add fluid, now is the time to add one of these products. If it's not popping now you could prevent it from starting.
