Convenience Center

I'm sure the question has been asked before but how do you stop bugs and critters from entering your trailer when you have your water hoses and cable hooked up through that big hole in the bottom?

Stuff a rag or towel in the opening.

I have never plugged mine. And have never seen a bug there. And as far as I know, nary a critter has ever entered.

Cut some two inch Styrofoam to fit into relatively tight into the hole. Then cut a hole the size of the water hose in the center. Just slip the hose end into the middle hole and connect to the proper connection. Has worked so far but trying to come up with something that fits around the hose that forms itself around the hose when I place it through it. Experimenting with a piece of inner tube stretched over some sort of ring that fits in the hole in the bottom of the convenient center. As I said still experimenting!

But I just use an old towel and stuff it around the hose(s).

Easy, just slice your donut in half, put the 2 halves around the hose and stuff it in the hole. ....or if you use a closed cell foam that is flexible(similar to a swimming pool noodle), you can just make a cut from the edge of the donut to the center hole, spread it apart to put water hose in, and stuff it in the hole.

We have never plugged or had any critters either. Did have a squirrel living under the king pin, and in the process chewed up the cable.

Lots of good ideas. We spend the winter in the desert at Quartzsite and there are mice and packrats that are always looking for a nice home.

The only time we worry about it is during late November and December prior to heading south. When I change to my heated water hose I stuff the hole with insulation. Other than that I hit it with some bug spray while I am doing my spraying around the outside of the rig.

I just use bug spray and a car washing sponge. Spray on the sponge and sponge making a donut around the hose.

We bought an extra round plastic plug that screws in to seal the hole while traveling. We then drilled two holes in it, one the size of the water hose end and one just big enough for the satellite cable end. So we have one disc for traveling and one for when parked.
