2012 3700RL Facade (interior trim) failure
We have had issues with the slide-out façade (interior trim) coming loose. I have repaired both the top façade on the kitchen slide and the bedroom slides.
If you have the same model or similar with the heavy trim on long slide-out, I recommend you consider reinforcing yours before it falls. It is heavy and could do damage i.e. this is solid hardwood, therefore, very heavy. I heard a pop while I was sleeping and couldn’t figure out what is was. When we arrived at the next campground, the whole upper inside façade on the bedroom slide had fallen onto the bed (lucky not my head). These heavy trim pieces are held with a few staples or very thin nails. I reinstalled by drilling small holes (wood is very hard) and using 1.5” finishing nails.
The kitchen upper trim consists of three pieces and it fell off during my maiden trip last year. Lucky for me, it didn’t crack the kitchen counter. The kitchen upper trim was a little more difficult to repair. There is a large piece of trim in the middle that was connected just on its edges to two other trip pieces. I added blocks of wood behind the center piece so I could secure center piece by more than just its left and right edges.
