RV Parks in CA.........

Puting feelers out for a Oregon Coast Mini Rally. We will be on the coast for the next 3 weeks. Presenty at Pacific City then moving on to Seaside on 8-4 for two weeks, then to Portland.

Any interest in getting together at a local restaurant for some good chow and conversation?????????? If anyone interested please feel free to post and we could pick out a place. Perhaps one of our locals could pick a place to meet.........

Phil,
Sure wish we were up there right now. Need to get out of this heat! Unfortunately we won't be back up that way until the middle of September. If you're going to be around then we'd love to get together. I suspect you'll be gone by then. I hope you can get a group together as there seems to be a fairly large contingent of MOCers up that way.

Keep on enjoying!

Shoot Phil & Cathy, we'll miss you again... We are moving over to Diamond Lake in a couple of days for a week and then down to Medford, Lake Shasta and on to Yosimite... We are looking for any suggestions of places to stay between Lake Shasta and Modesto from you if you have them.

Helen,
About an hour south of Redding there is a casino right on I-5. It is called Rolling Hills Casino. You can either boondock in the truck parking lot or stay in the FHU RV Park. I think it is about 20 or 25 $$$. It is a pretty nice park. And the casino has a great buffet.

We've stayed at the French Camp RV park and it is a VERY nice park. A bit on the expensive side but a nice park. We tend to take I-5 instead of 99 and we stay at either the RV Park on Ave 12 called Flying Flags or Flag City. It is directly across the street from a Flying J. Listing is under the city of Lodi. About 50 miles south of the Stockton area is a park called Kit Fox RV Park. It is a Camp Club member and probably a Passport America too. It is a nice park and reasonable even without the membership discounts.

If you'd like a park around the Redding area we'd recommend the JGW park just a few miles south of Redding. Also if you're interested in a park around the Red Bluff area there is a relatively new park right on the Sacramento River. We've not stayed at this park but it looks really nice.

Of course once you get down to the Bakersfield area you are welcome to park in our driveway. We have FHU. There are at least 3 really nice parks in our area. Drop us a line when you get near.

Sounds like you are having a great trip. Travel safely.

We will be heading to Lake Shasta after Bend. We did stay at Diamond Lakes and are looking for a good campground around Lake Shasta. Since we belong to 1000 Trails we do not stay in a lot of public parks. We stayed at Yosemite Lakes campground, OK, close to the west entrance and again it was 1000 Trails but I hear they rent to the public also.

Thanks to you all... I have printed this info all out... For sure we will try the Casino Park since I love casino's.. Since we won't have a lot of time to get to our reservations in Yosemite we will probable try the least expensive one in Lodi for an overnite...

Thanks to you Phil, we already have reservations at Yosemite Lakes Campground for the 15th of
August... Didn't mean to hi-jack this thread and I hope you get your mini Oregon rally going.. Wish we could be at it...

Dennis, we will keep in touch as we get nearer to your area.

I was at French Camp in May. At that time the cable system was out. Flag City is the RV Park in Lodi off Hwy 5. Kit Fox is off Hwy 5 in Patterson. Not much there but good for overnight.

The JGW in Redding, very nice. Things to do around there if you are going to stay a few days. Red Bluff, Durango Rv Park, very nice and if you don't want to cook Round Table pizza will deliver right to your space.

Looks like the subject has changed to RV parks in California. If there is any interest in a Mini Moc Rally along the Oregon coast, you can start a new post.....

Phil and Cathy,
I apologize for the direction your thread has taken.

Greg thanks for the additional info regarding the various parks I had listed.

Phil at Mt. Shasta there is a nice CG about 3 miles south. Lake Siskiyou. Didn't you guys stay there? If not it is a true mountain type CG. It is really very nice. If you're interested I'd recommend stie 313. That is where we usually stay when in that area. There is a KOA in town if you're interested in that.

Dennis, is that the park where the rally has been held the past few years? If so, I agree it's a very nice park.

Phil & Cathy, the mini-rally on the Oregon Coast sounds like fun. Unforutnately for us, we are now well beyond there. We spent four weeks on the Oregon coast, starting in mid-June. One week each in Port Orford, Lakeside, Lincoln City, Warrenton. Gorgeous coast. I hope you two enjoy it as much as we did.

Steve,
Yes. That is the Memorial Day Rally we usually attend. Love the mountain setting. Sounds like you guys are having the time of your lives. It looks as if the weather has been cooperating. Keep having fun and hope we run into you again soon.
Travel safely,
Dennis and Mary Kay
