The only reason I see in having it, is if you just bought a Brand New 250/2500 Series Diesel truck and then went out a purchased a DRV or big Toy Hauler in the 20K range that would grossly overload such a TV. But with this thing it carries the weight, has brakes on it, and I believe it attaches at several points like a Swivel Wheel trailer, thus allowing for backing and since the TV has the same engine/xmission as the Dually, would have the power to pull the setup even tho you would most likely be way over your Combined Gross.
Would I own on - NO Way, seems to causes way more issues than it resolves.

And that is why I say “Friends don’t let Friends buy undersized trucks”!!!!!

So let’s agree that best advice for NEWBEES is buy the 1 ton diesel dually 4x4 and be done with it right? I’ll get my popcorn 🍿 now LOL 😝!

James, I will not argue the point at all. When we were first looking to upgrade from our TT and 1500 Chevy in 2005 I was just looking at 2500 Duramax Chevys, but could find a Long Box and full Towing Package, so while working up an order the Salesman says "That new Dually we have has all the options you're looking for and I'll make you a better deal on it vs ordering". Well the rest it history, now on our Third Dually and third 5th wheel.
BUT I still wouldn't own an Automated Safety Hitch!!

One of these gizmos plus a heavy fifth wheel and you've STILL got to buy an expensive tow vehicle to safely handle them both. Why waste the $$ ?!

I like being shown I’m wrong. I learn something I didn’t know every time.

Probably worse fuel mileage due to extra weight Do not believe better airflow would save much fuel IMHO

Safety Hitch

Ok I’ll bite on this. I owned one and have since sold it. It was a wonderful way to be able to carry our ATV in the bed of the truck. It was built very well and it did give you some extra stopping power. Would I buy one again? No. Joe did make some changes after ours but still wouldn’t buy one. If you are going around a curve and it’s tight the hitch will be pushed by the fiver scrubbing your trucks rear tires and the safety hitch tires. Now if you turn your turn signal on it will lift the lock on the axel and will not do this. You can back it up but it is a pain. It just adds more length in an already tight area in most parks. For what most everyone is doing with their fiver I would not spend 11,000+ for one again. Then if you don’t like it you may get 4K for it. JMHO

Nobody mentioned you still have to tow this contraption. Yeah you unload the PU bed, but now you add weight of the device to your CGVW.. If you were close before, you'll definitely be over limits with it attached. RAWR is not the only number you have to pay attention to when towing.
