Norcold refrigerator

Having problems with water in drip tray freezing. I have temp control set on 1. Temperature on top shelf of refrigerator is 34.5 degrees. Any suggestions?

I see you have a 2010 model, take it back in to have a new control board installed. There is a problem if you have it on 1 and it's freezing the drip tray.

I have the same problem with mine when the fridge is jam packed with stuff. With more room between items for the air to circulate better, the problem goes away. You might also try an inside-the-fridge fan.

I think part of my problem is that the hose that the drip tray plugs into has a slight uphill as it leaves the tray so that the water does not drain very well. If the fridge is over packed, when it cycles on again, the cold drops straight down into the drip tray and freezes the water left in the tray (and drain hose). Once this happens, it will not ever drain any water that drips into the tray, so as the fridge cycles on and off it keeps on getting more full until the drip tray starts overflowing and makes a mess.

Just had this problem. Found out that the drip tube was plugged and not allowing the water in the tray to empty and with its proxiity to the cooling fins, the water began to freeze. BTW, the tube was plugged at the black tip end, outside. I removed the black end, blew it out and reinserted - problem solved.
