We are still unable to find the cat unfortunately. As we don't have children they really are our kids and its painful not being able to find him but the park service knows to keep an eye out for him and we have notice's at all of the shelters in both directions from the site of the crash just incase someone finds him.

Insurance wont be a problem as the agent is a family friend who is doing everything she can to help us out as quickly as possible and we have family not far and they were able to take us in while we recover.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and wishes but i think this is going to be the end of our travels for a little while while the wife recovers from the shock. We will most likely be moving to the longmont colorado area to settle down for awhile

Feeling real bad for you. I am glad this does not happen very often. Have been in some wind but nothing like that.

We are glad you are OK. Sorry about your cat. Thank you for posting this as we are newbies (haven’t even picked up our fifth wheel from the dealer yet). I’ve heard horror stories about “wind” but didn’t give much credence to the stories until seeing your picture and story. You and you wife might be saving some of us who didn’t think wind was that big of a deal. God Bless both of you.

You have a great attitude considering what happened. Might post where you are as many of us would be glad to help if we are anywhere near you. So glad you are both doing well!

So sorry to hear. Most importantly, you are both ok. Hopefully your cat will be found. Post pictures in the area and maybe someone will find your cat.

So tragic to go through something like this. It sometimes takes awhile to get back on the bike so I hope it works out for you guys. I have seen many facebook posts of animals that took off when there was an accident. People in my area of Arizona are great at finding lost pets. If someone could post the cat's picture on facebook I am sure it would eventually get shared to the local area where the accident occurred. Best of luck to you and will be praying for your fur baby to find his way back to you.

Ooops, didn't mean to post this as a reply.

Can you tell all of us the conditions and circumstances that caused all of this maybe we can all learn form this.

Thanks everyone. We are in Carlsbad NM currently and the crash happened going down the Guadalupe Mountain Pass with gusts reaching 70+. the wrecker couldn't even pickup the rig that day due to the wind taking most of it and spreading it throughout the pass.

Currently we are looking around the area for a truck to replace the one we lost and are going to head into arizona somewhere to settle down for a few years hopefully.

if anyone is interested here are some more pictures
