Question Stove top question

New to the Club-on our new-to-us 2016 Mountaineer, the stove top has "openings" around the burners. . .is this standard? It would seem that there would be some type of "collar" to protect the area below the stove top from spills. Am I missing these "collars" or is this the way the stove is built? Thx

That is the way they are. It’s for the burners to get air, I guess.

stove

I assume you mean the round openings that the burners stick through?
Those are normal and I seem to recall that there is a "lip" or raised area around the holes to keep minor liquid spills from running down under the stove top.
Be that as it may - stuff always gets down under the stove top and I have removed the top and cleaned many stove tops on many former RVs.

Stove manufacturers offer a "sealed burner" and "non sealed burner" version. The sealed burner type does not have the space between the burner and cooktop. When your Mountaineer was built, Keystone utilized the "non sealed" style. You might contact the stove manufacturer and see if you can purchased a sealed burner version and replace what you don't like.
