A small portable smoker?

Looking for any suggestions on a SMALL portable smoker, either charcoal or gas, that I can easily put in the basement to the Monte when headed out for short or extended trips. Have a larger electric smoker at the S&B but to large to take along. Anyone have any ideas?

Last year's trip saw several of these.

Folks who had loved them. convenience of gas, taste of smoke.

We have modified our Traeger Junior by removing the legs. Neither gas nor charcoal but if you are willing to carry charcoal maybe the pellets will be doable.

We picked up the portable Traeger smoker from the rv dealer on sale. I think the model is PTG. Portable Traeger Grill? Anyway, we really like it. It came with a cover/carrying bag. It's a little heavy, but works great. I do need to work on a way to store the pellets so they don't spill in the basement....

It's a small grate, but big enough for us. It'll fit a rack and 1/2 of ribs, so plenty.

I use the Masterbuilt electric.. small, legs fold....can do 8-10 lb Boston butt or 10 lbd turkey, etc....so far ...good...I did get a 25 ft 10 gauge ext cord for it so we plug it into campground post and not into side of Monty just to be safe...easy to transport as it is fairly light weight....

You may want to check this out.

http://www.amazenproducts.com/product_p/amnts.htm
I bought one earlier this year and love it. It fits in any grill. They are available all over and only use a small amount of pellets.
Check out all the videos on you tube about them.

I absolutely love my Cookshack! The size of a dorm sized refrigerator. It will provide you with restaurant quality BBQ with zero effort. You put in your wood chips...plug it in...go away for the day..return to some of the best BBQ around! I am a Kansas City BBQ snob, so trust me on this..it is good!

I have a cook shack as well. I would say it would not be easy to haul and to your question. It would not fit in storage. I have a friend who has a small smoker from Green mountain. I see someone as posted link. He says ways about 65 pounds.

I use a Rec Tec Mini RT 300 pellet smoker. It fits in the basement and grills or smokes everything from steaks and burgers to ribs and pork butts.
We even cook biscuits in it. The temperature control technology that it has makes it very versatile. Works like an oven or a grill.

Small portable smoker

I made a great switch to my BBQ with a small tailgaterGreenmountain"Davy Crocket" pellet smoker/BBQ! Has a built in wifi in controls that work with your smartphone. It cost me on sale $350.00. I love the way it cooks and adds that smoke flavor to all my meats.Plus, it does a great job smoking fish!

GMG Davey Crocket works for us. Fits in basement as easy as our former Roadtrip grill.

Thanks gang! I now have numerous choices from your suggestions. Maybe since Father's Day is coming up, I'll be lucky and get one if I'm a good Dad! LOL

Portable Smoker

I bought a Traeger PTG when I had my class C and now I have it in my fifth wheel. It fits nicely in the front compartment, large flat area so I can set things on top of it. Perfect size for the wife and I.

This is what I bought. Have had it two years. Have done ribs and butts in it. I refilled the propane canisters from our extra 30lb tank that I carry. Late last year I found a hose to use with the 30 lber instead of the cans. Legs fold and the box takes up maybe 3-4 cubic feet of storage in the gen compartment.

We store our pellets in a plastic bin with a lid.
