F350 6.0 out of warrenty by 31 days.
My warrenty expired 6-25-2010. Guess what happened 31 days later. Yes the turbo failed. They must have a timer in the engine that signals when the warrenty expires. Anyway having to pay for the repair. Could have been a lot worst.

Sorry to hear about your turbo. My 5 year engine warranty is about to run out. Wonder if the dealer would do a check up of the truck before it expires?

If i were you, I would go to my dealer, and have them contact the warranty rep for ford for you. I would have a talk with him on this. There could be a good chance they will cover all or most of the repairs. Most auto companies are a little loose if you can deal with them on a case by case basis. Good luck. You are not that far out.

Sweet talk the dealer. They can extend warranties in cases like yours under special circumstances. If they won't, ask to speak to a regional rep. Be polite, but firm. NOTE: This will ONLY work if the repairs are done by a Ford Dealer.

Just had my first problem with my truck. After about 200 miles and just 7.2 miles from the campground (according to the GPS), the engine died. Pulled off the side of the interstate. Would not restart. Had it towed to local Ford dealer. Had camper towed to our destination campground.
Turned out to be the cam sensor. Fixed under warranty. And warranty paid for rent car while repairs were being made. So not too bad

I did a little reading on the PS engines and issues the other day. Seems Ford leaves it up to the dealer whether to replace items as this and cover part of the cost. One of the primary denominators is whether you are a regular customer or not, including having the dealer do all the routine service on your truck.

I would work on having Ford cover this repair also. Because the next thing that is going to go is the oil line once it's back under pressure. That's what left me stranded roadside hauling out of Yosemite.

Maybe it's my imagination but it seems that more Ford owners than the other two get real antsy when they get near warranty expire time. Why???

Maybe the Ford guys are more open to discussion and the other two don't want to talk about their problems??

I really don't think that is the case with everyone. You just have folks that have got to poke the fire, so to speak. I'm glad everyone has different taste in vehicles. More jobs for everyone. If Ford had resolved the cab off repair issue, I might well be driving one. I have friends that drive all 3 major brands, and like them. To each his own.
