Trav'ler Satellite Wiring

Is there away to Tee the Trav'ler dish into the Montana tv cable so you have to use cable or a portable dish you can just hook up to cable that is already there.

My DireTV will not work when connected to the cable input. I had to install a separate connection. But then, our rig is 10 years old. I don't know how the newer rigs are wired.

if your 5ther is newer than 8years old the cable wire is rg6 or better.so you can connect the satilite wire to the cable connection.in behind the tv the connection should be one for sat. one for tv that over the air hook to the one that says cable or sat the other is for over the air.these will only work in the living room.the bedroom is not wired for sat.that is how mine is wired yours to the bedroom might be different if is newer than 05. hope that helps

Don, our Traveller is connected to the sat/cable connection in the convenience console. Just unscrew the traveler and connect your dish. If your Traveller was installed differently, it could be tougher. Good luck.

Don,
I am not sure what Traveler you have. We had an 08 2955 and the Winegard SK-3005. I ran a coax through the roof down the cabinet above the tv to the receiver. I wanted the most direct route for the coax from the dish to the receiver without any diplexers.

For connecting a tripod mounted 5LNB dish I ran a coax from the utility bay to the cabinet bay above the computer tray where I had the receiver. At both ends I mounted a coax connection plate.

This worked well for me. Each setup was a direct coax cable to the receiver. I would just connect which ever coax I wanted to the receiver.
