Step one taken...

This weekend there is an RV show in Tampa. A small one that doesn't come close to the Super Show in January but not so small that Mike Gabba wouldn't show up. They do have the Montana line on display by Suncoast RV. However they did not have the new 3485 represented. In fact they won't have the 3485 available until the January show. The GM from Suncoast didn't even know what I was talking about. When I worked there last January I made Suncoast very aware of the MOC. In fact it was through the MOC and I that they first heard about the new front cap, the mirror and the new graphics. I did tell him they should start paying more attention to this forum. Anyway Mike Gabba and I got him straightened out on the new 3485 and the sofa. But I digress....

Today I presented the GM from Suncoast my list of wants and do not wants for my new 3485, explained just what I was looking for and also gave him the info on my trade.
Mike is going to get the GM the new MSRP and Cost sheets on the 3485 and within a week or so we should be able to start haggling price and get down to the serious part called the actual order.
I am also considering allowing Montana and Suncoast to use my 3485 as the display model for the show. Of cour$e I do expect to be compen$ated for thi$.
If all goes as expected I should be taking delivery sometime the end of January if not before.

Congratulations on the first move! I've asked locally about the new model and I get the same blank stare.

Good luck on your plan and hope everything works out to your benefit!

Congratulations Glenn, and good luck with the negotiations. Sounds like you have a well thought out plan. Looking forward to hearing the "rest of the story" as Paul Harvey would say.
Enjoy your nice weather.

The site was apparently pulled by the dealer but here are the pics I managed to save before it was pulled.
http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...timingit/3485/

The one pic that is missing is a full picture on the totally enclosed bathroom. Shower, commode and vanity are in a room all their own. Now you can sh**, shave and shower and not disturb the spouse while they remain in dream land.
The 3 door corner cabinet next to the frig is now a 2 door. The top door remains but the bottom 2 doors are now one making it high enough to hang a broom or an extra long coat such as an overcoat.

Congratulations on the new Monty. Will it be ready by May next year for the Branson rally ? Can't wait to see it. Hope you show all of us the new floor plan. Don't know how we missed seeing that one at the Montana factory tour parking lot.

Glenn,
Is the new sofa going to also come out in January. We are waiting to order until late Dec or early January.

Congrats!

Safe travels.

New Sofa? If you mean the highback design I think it's already out. Just saw it in the 07.

They are referring to the new AIRBED sofa and yes it will be available and yes we have added it to our options wanted list.

You know with the "Which Montana floorplan has largest living room?" thread and this thread I am beginning to feel that Montana knew exactly what Lorraine and I were looking for in a 5er and waited to introduce the 3485 until we were ready to trade.
The more I think about the 3485's floor plan the more I KNOW we have made the right decision and being it's a MONTANA just seals the deal.

Glenn: Just want to let you know that the post on another topic re the frig going back to the wood front is correct. I was at the service centre last week and Rick confirmed that they were going back to the old front instead of the black.

Thanks Glenn I thought so but wasn't sure about the sofa. The sales manager here acted like we had rocks in our head and he said he had just gone to the factory! He said "you know the price will just go up" trying to get us to submit to buying the unit that had just come in - such an infuriating weasel!

Safe travels.

Mike Gabba was at an RV show down here this past weekend and it was Mike that reaffirmed what I had already suspected about the frig door.
And the Black door is now an option.

Well, I must say I am excited for you also Glenn and Lorraine. I know I really liked what I saw at Goshen and to be able to go in a tweak a few things, would make this a great unit.
