I used tape on sensors first to make sure of placement, I used new wire and did not use existing wire.

With the Garnet I can add a second readout by the inconvenience panel and see how much I am filling my black tank when flushing. That would be very useful.

I got the standard kit (709-4) which includes 12" sensors. The sensors can be cut to smaller tanks.

I replaced my sensors with the SeeLevel Gauge and sensors about 1 1/2 years ago. They work very well. They use an external sensor on each tank and IF you get them positioned correctly, they are very accurate. My Fresh water goes to 0 % when I have 3.5 gallons of water remaining. All of my waste tanks indicate 100 % when I have about 5 gallons of room remaining.

Concerning the Gauge mounting, I used a template to cut a hole in the control center and mounted it there. I used the existing gauge wiring to run to the new sensors since the wiring was already at each tank and in the control panel. Just clipped the wires off the factory sensors and picked two colors to use for attaching to the new sensors and control panel gauge.
The gauges have a notch that you cut to indicate which tank that sensor is attached to and inform the control panel gauge.

I installed SeeLevel sensors on the last and SOB 5er. They worked great but this one --- well someday, maybe. I did install the Horst (now Valterra ) sensors on the black tank. They work just as poorly as the original button sensors with a protruding sensor wire that just loves to collect, ahem, cr--, oops stuff
