There is a formula Ford goes by, how many you ordered last month, year how many are on your lot and I’m sure other factors. When it gets built is even more complicated. You would think a special order would move the front of the line, nope. It has to do with the priority the dealer puts on it, how many the dealer can order and lots of other factors. The way I understand it a dealer will make about $2000 on a $50,000 vehicle they sell at invoice. They have hold back, interest, advertisement, that Ford pays for and several more things.

We have been Ford Folks for many years. Joys Dad worked in the training dept in Detroit and we always got our new trucks at 6% below dealer inventory plus got any dealer incentives off also. It was always much cheaper to buy Ford. After looking for 10 months for our 1st 5th wheel and realizing the weight issue (Joy did not want a 30-35 footer), we looked at both Ford and Ram. As it turned out, it just made for a better pulling beast to get the Ram.

You may be over the Truck's GVWR ... It's between 10 and 11500 depending on the truck// If your'e near 9000 lbs.. the max is 2400 into truck...At 2840 pin, it seems it puts you over...The Dually brings the GVWR from a max of 11500 to a max of 14000

Yeah, barely in.
The GVWR on the sticker is 11,600. It's tighter than I would like, but it seems to tow fine. I'll definitely be looking at a DRW for the next truck though.

My 2017 ram 3500 mega cab was over by 200... It's funny how fast it adds up when looking at the specs...

I'm pulling a 2019 3761FL with a 2019 F350 dually 6.7 4x4 Lariat. No scales nearby so have not had a chance to weight the truck separate. I did have a chance to run the rig over the scale last trip ready to camp for 3 months. I was not worried as the dually can certainly handle it. Guessed to be around 22,500 - 23,000. Wrong!
Steer 5020
Drive 7020
Trailer 13,180
Total 25,220

This is why its so important to get weighed (which most NEVER DO ). Most of us would guess wrong. Sometimes by 1000,s of lbs, as stated above. The stuff we all carry in adds up quick.

I think we all think a truck carries big weight.... reality, they dont..even a 1 ton carries under 2500 lbs after people, and whatever..This is the reason for the dually..our Montana pin weight is 2800 ... too much for a srw..

You are absolutely right, but convincing others to the right thing is dam near impossible. Just responded to another thread were a guy is towing his 2018 3120 (16k GVWR) Montana with a 2500 truck, stating the only difference between 2500&3500 is springs. They just do not get it, and I don't think they care one iota.

That statement maybe mostly true with most, but I have no issues with my dually and take it every where the SWR crowd goes (accept a drive through or car wash). I just have to be a little more selective at where I park it.

I take mine Where ever a SRW fits.. Some of the Carwashes do take dually trucks.. Look for the Laser ones.... No brushes but they do the whole truck..

While I will be the first to admit that a 1 ton dually long bed is the most capable truck to tow a modern Montana with, it just irks me when people post inaccurate information in order to justify their argument. The truck in my signature, a fully optioned High Country 1 ton SRW, has a CCC of 3656lbs more than enough to carry 2800 lbs of pin weight. In fact it leaves me with 856lbs for hitch, passengers, generator, ect.
So please, let's get our facts and figures right before we post so that we provide accurate information.

Is your truck a diesel or a gasser? I ask since my '17 F350 CCLB PSD 4x4 had a CCC of 3260. Which was not enough, hence the dually.
thanks
