Newbie question

I just got my new Montana 3711FL a couple of weeks ago and I want to get started off on the right foot with maintenance. I searched this site and found lots of good suggestions about maintenance but I was wondering if there is a list somewhere of 'what to do and when to do it' items. I'm new to camping and went camping for the first time this past weekend so I really am a rookie.

Thanks for any links.

I keep a single bound notebook that I record all the maintenance that I do on my 11 year old Monty. It shows the date, location, and what I did. Maintenance does not include draining the tanks! Such items as sanitizing the fresh water system, greasing the wet-bolts, replacing the batteries, wash and wax the RV, tire issues(blow outs and replacements), greasing the front landing legs, grease the bearing, check the brakes, etc. I don't have a check list for maintenance but do have a 2 page checklist for getting the Monty ready for our usual 3-4 months on the road.
I also keep a log on my tires in my laptop--shows date when they were installed. I replace them after 4 years--better to do it while I am at a tire shop then after a blowout on the road or pick up a nail. Hope that helps. My wife has the inside check list that she does before we depart--works great for us. Send me a PM if you want a copy.

Doing research and reading like you are doing and develop your own list by combining what you find works best as that makes it specific to your rig and its equipment, your usage, etc. Making your own checklists for packing, setup, tear down, storage is a great help and then you can work the maintenance. Also a good place to look for videos is https://www.youtube.com/user/rved101 the RV101 series by Mark Polk as one option. There are others as well.

One thing I strongly recommend is inspecting the roof frequently. I found gaps in the caulking during our PDI, and found a 2" circular tear in the rubber roof after 8 months. I have no idea what made the tear but a quick roof patch saved us from a potential leak.
