Knife No Cut, What Up?

This is the second time.... I had a truck camper and the Black tank knife valve didn't close shut all the way. Maybe an inch from touching the panel. My next stop, the darn thing drained sewer water on me and my shoes when I released the cap. Yuuuuuk! Now the same thing happened on the Montana FB3900 on Black Tank #2. Son of a gun! I stopped at a CW to buy a termination knife valve at the extreme exit to prevent it from happening again. Well add this to my list when I get back home. So I'm thinking that #2 is "no go" for #2 because all the fluid leaches out. And as I have said in a previous subject the FB3900 has no flush (I put a "Tornado" in myself). Anyone else?

Not sure what brand of toilet paper you're using, but you might try something else and see if that helps. We use Scott RV paper and haven't had any issues in years. Basically since we quit using house brand TP.

Yep my black tank valve lever will not push in all the way either BUT I do not get any leakage passing through Maybe a piece of tissue jammed in the valve ??? don't know but it does not leak so I let it be, it has been like that since about a month after I bought it

I've installed the knife valve at the outlet on all 3 of our Montanas to eliminate the back splash. And I will not pay that outrageous price for rv tp, we use Charmin Ultra and never had a valve hang up on it.
But as for the tp, use what suits your needs.

I use coconut oil that Camping World sells its made for the blades of drain valves.

We have the 3900FB and have the same problem with black tank #2. It
leaks water and the valve handle does not close all the way in also.
I also added the black tank flush in tank # 2 also. I have been using Scotts toilet tissue for the last 20 years and have never had any problems before. I do think since we did not have a flush from the
start on that tank that some paper or black matter may have stuck in the valve and may take some time to dissolve. I also started adding a Digester in the black tank to hopefully help with the problem. Also
I find the gauges for the black tanks also don't work great also.
Hope things get better with this problem.

Pour some cooking oil in the black tank occasionally after last dump before driving. Let it slosh around while you drive. Lubes the knife and all surfaces in the tank. Keystone has now added flusher to second tank.

I installed the "Tornado" to Black Tank #2 while it was brand new and used it during every dump. The last time this happened to me, the Lance Truck Camper dealer said that if it was a "mechanical" problem, they will fix it under warranty. If it was a blockage due something of human influence, it was on my dime. My point is that the knife valve is fallible since I'm batting 2 for 2 on RVs and perhaps some other method should be invented.

My cure for the same leaking - spilling sh!t on your shoes - is to put my Flush King on with ita blade closed, attach my sewer hose between the Flush King and the dump drain, and then open valves.

I use silicone spray on the blade in the Flush King to keep it working like new.
