Speaking of anti-theftevices

I really like this first one, but you have to carry an extra Fob, Do I need it with the security chip in my key?

The second one is a really good idea, I am ordering one of these.

The third one is...well, I guess just dreaming...

I saw a anti theft device in the Coty Wy museum that I liked. It's a watermelon patch gun, It had 4 trip lines. If you touched one of the lines the gun would swing around and shoot you. I guess it was for people who really really liked watermelons!

For #1 - So, as a smart crook all I'd have to do is carry a spare ignition fuse, pull out the master sentry, and put in the spare fuse module for that vehicle and I'd be good to go --- Hmmm.

For #2 - Need a bigger hammer for the Jimmi Jammer.

For #3 - I especially liked the flooded car. After all, when it's over with you can deny any knowledge of how the car got flooded, and then put in an insurance claim.

Mossberg makes a very effective anti theft device, of course you must sleep in your vehicle to use it. What's a guy to do???

Phil,
I assume the Mossberg is a handgun of some sort. Sounds as if it would be very effective except for that sleeping in the car requirement!

And Jim some of those anti theft devices gave me a good laugh. Thanks.

Later, Dennis

Send a message via Yahoo to NCFischers
I queried Master Lock about their Starter Sentry and was told that they have discontinued that product line.

Isn't there a big wire and a little wire that go to the starter. Just interrupt the little wire with a switch somewhere hidden and it will not start???

The theft of my F250 was thwarted by the interruption of the device that lets you shift into gear when you step on the break pedal. They tried, destroyed the ignition switch and the door lock but could drive it away. It was even put into 4 wheel drive to try and make it go but they finally gave up. That was about three weeks ago. It has been repaired and is parked back in its usual place, but I am more jumpy when I hear noises outside at night.

I had a Ravelco plug installed on our truck. It is strictly anti-theft (no alarm). They advertise there has never been a vehicle with one stolen.

That's why they come with two - my wife has the spare! Actually, Mine has a quick connect for my key ring, so if I lose the plug, I lose my keys too.

They are not cheap - I paid $400 for mine. But I look at it as a good investment. If someone stole my truck from my driveway or around town, it's an inconvenience. If they stole it while we were camping it could be a catastrophe. Most insurance companies will make you wait 30 days before paying off on a stolen vehicle.

My brother used to live in a neighbourhood with high vehicle thefts where his previous truck was stolen twice. He had a device installed which is almost identicle to yours where he had to plug in the chip before the truck would start. Since then he had to replace a steering wheel column and door lock but the truck was still there. Well worth the cost in his opinion too.

Harley Davidson's antitheft works the same as the Starter Sentry... The keyfob has to be within approx 20 feet of the bike before it will start. Of course this didn't keep the bike planted to the ground from being carried away.

Too bad the Starter Senry is off the market. Same results as the Ravelco but cheaper and an easy self install.
