Nashville Beware No Gas

We are staying in Nashville for a couple of days. Was surprised to find most of the east side is out of gasoline. Luckily we are diesel and that is not a problem. We probably passed 2 stations all day that had gas. If your passing thru you probably will want to fill up before you get close so you can make it thru. West to Knoxville no problems getting gas. TV news says it should pass in the next few days. They are blaming it on IKE.

I just read about this online. It's something else and the article states it was all started by a rumor.
Enjoy your time in Nashville.

They are telling people to stop filling gas cans and hoarding gas. When a station gets a load its gone in an hour, After three days it doesn't appear to be getting better.

The Flying J west of Knoxville on I-40/I-75 lists themselves as being out of both ULS Diesel and Gas as of tonight. Yellow is "Low". Orange is "Critical". Red is "Out".

Knoxville Flying J

*On Edit~ I just noticed on the bottom it says a load of diesel and gas are due in (ETA) at midnight...

OK Dave, this brings up an interesting point.

Did you just google into Flying J, or are you using one of the web sites that shows prices of fuel??

Do you do this while on the road??

Seems to me would be another good way to use an air card???

Could you repeat your URL's here?? thanks

Well its called panic (GREED) I live in Tennessee and its unbelieveable people were filling up everything they had including 5 gal cans. We returned from Texas on Friday and had no problem getting Diesel at anytime. Its called stupidity, people actually think things are in short supply they should hoard everything. Just mention SNOW around here and people run out and buy all the milk, bread and t-paper in the store. The same with money, people ran out last week and took 90 billion dollars out of the system. And look what happened. Just take a deep breath and think before reacting, Greed is killing this country. GBY..

Carol I don't know how Dave accesses Flying J, but I just use www.flyingj.com and go from there. Choose "gas prices" option and choose the state.
I also use www.loves.com as in this part of Indiana they have been running just a few cents cheaper on diesel than flying j.

Thanks Phill,

I like knowing how others handle the fuel prices, and all the other stuff we do here with our units. Campground hunting, etc.

I always learn something when we discuss HOW.

Thanks again.

Just getting on here. Phill is using what I use, Carol. Just FlyingJ.com. But I have each individual station bookmarked in a separate folder for quick access for info on that particular station. They happened to be spaced just right for our trip to FL at the end of Oct.

If I were traveling today, it would cost me $213.72 in gas for the 30 mpg Park Ave and $581.95 for my diesel ($795.67 total fuel cost) for the 1,404 mile trip to FL - based on the current price at all planned fuel stops.
