Inverter question

Our (new to us) 2008 2955RL has had the propane/AC fridge replaced with a residential unit so it will not be running while on the road. I am considering installing an inverter just for the fridge. My question is; would I need a bank of batteries or will my truck (2016 GMC w/Duramax) alternator provide enough amps/volts.

You will be successful installing several 6v deep cycle batteries to maximize your usable amp hour capacity.

When my unit came from the factory with a Res Fridge, it was recommended to come with 2 12 volt deep cycle batteries to power the 1000 watt inverter. Your truck will help keep the batteries charged but does not have enough current to run the inverter.
You will need to check the power needs of your fridge to determine the best inverter/battery setup for your needs.

I went with a 2000 watt inverter and wish I would have went with a 3000 watt inverter but I planned on running most everything in the trailer when off shore power. I want to be able to run Microwave and coffee maker for a few days with the refer without getting out the generator or plugging in the trailer to charge the batteries
