Hitches
Hello again everyone, sorry if these 2 questions have been discussed ad nausea. The wife and I are picking up our new 3120rl soon. Once the shop is up basically.
I'm looking at air ride hitches ( the reason I say I'm looking and not we're looking, because... Well she doesn't need to know the price of said hitches lol)
So on to my 2 questions if I go with a 25k hitch I have 2 heads available Valley and the Holland/Binkley are there pros and cons to these or is it more of a personal preference?
Lastly how much "wiggle room" do you like with your hitch weight rating? The 3120rl is rated at 12k dry another 4k loaded with 2200lbs of pin weight. So essentially I could be pulling up to 16k lbs, is a 20k hitch enough or is it better to spend the extra coin and get the 25k hitch for good measure? I know to always keep in mind of upgrade, but I think that will be quite sometime down the road
Thanks
Jer

I would NOT get a 16k hitch if that is what my max weight capacity is. I would opt for the 20k hitch in this situation. Buying a 25k hitch for this unit is overkill in my opinion. That would be like buying a Peterbilt semi to tow a car hauling trailer.

I would get an 18 to 20k also. Can't help you on the air hitches. We like the Moryde pinbox that came on ours and we use a Pullrite hitch since we have a short bed.

There isn’t enough price difference between the 16 and 25 to justify going cheap if you ask me. Get the 25 and forget about it. It will outlast your camper and probably the next one too

Your truck info would be helpful.
Looking at weights your estimating, you can’t believe what’s written on the papers unless it comes from a “CAT” Scale
Enjoy you new rig and travel safe.

My GVW on the Montana is 15,600. I was advised by the good folks here to go 20k, which I did. A little more beef is ok. 25k is a lot, but if it's not a big difference in cost, what the heck?

Just checking in as we move on to our Mont 3121. Have a short 6-9 bed F-250 6.7D. Seems that Anderson Hitch might be a really good option. Considering weight and ease of installation. Any thoughts out there? Skip Brown

I just bought a 2019 3700LK, (replacing another 5er), and installed the Anderson hitch. Love it! I also have the short bed F-250 6.7D. Had a sliding Pullrite previously, and it was a pain installing and removing it, just because it was so heavy. The Anderson is great!

Hitches
I have a 3120 and pull it with a Dodge diesel 2500 6'7" bed. B & W hitch slider rated 20,000lbs. Love it. Does a great job. I have had to use the slider a few times and don't mind it. Better safe than sorry.

I use an Aluminum Andersen with my 3120 and it has worked perfectly for me so far.
