Washer & Dryer question

I want to install a washer and dryer in my Monty. I don't want a combo unit. I want to go with the separate stacked setup with a vented dryer. In my research I found basically that there are 2 types of stacked units. You have the ones that are made for RV's like the Splendie and then you have the small household units made for apt's. I like the apt size ones because they have a little larger capacity. The only thing is that household units draw around 15 amps. Where as the splendie rv units only draw 4-5 amps.
Do to the higher amp draw I would like too know from anyone who has the household units installed if you have any power issues when doing laundry? Do you have to turn off any a/c units or other appliances before you turn on the washer or dryer? Thanks.

I think you have to consider if you are going to be stationary are mobile. A household washer and driver are not designed to be bounced around

Thanks for the reply. They will be going in my 3750FL and I'm going to be mobile. In doing research I know that RV unit are designed to take the bouncing. The only other difference that I was able to find, besides the lower amp draw, was that the RV units use metal water valves and connections as opposed to the plastic ones used in household units. I could find no other manufacturing differences mentioned. Has anyone who has installed house hold units and are mobile have any failures because of it. Like the plastic valves breaking or anything else due to the bouncing?

We have had a Sears Kenmore Stacked Washer & Dryer Mod (88732794)for eight years in our (2005) 3400RL and 4 years in our (2013) 3403RL with no problem's.

Not sure where you got your numbers from, but we have the Splendie stacked units and the Dryer when in operation on the Hi Heat setting draws 10 to 12 amps.

My mistake. You're right I misread the rating. I went to the Splendie website and the washer is 4 Amps and the dryer is 12. Thx.

I had my splendide washer apart and it is the first washing machine that I have ever seen that is built with a steel tube frame that the exterior panels are attached to. that convinced me that the splendide is built to be bounced around.

Make sure you can get the unit in your camper. A unit 24 1/8 inches will not go in my camper.

Measure twice - We tried to put one in SOB 5er and it wouldn't fit though the bedroom door even after removing the door and the trim nor would go though a window. He called to return it and they tech said that they had the same problem with model 5er. After 100 miles drive to pick it up and 100 miles trip to return it this guy wasn't happy camper.

We have the combined w/d unit, Splendide, and so far, so good. It over-drys the clothes, so we've still got to figure that setting out. But it's easy to use, efficient, no electrical load problems, fairly quiet, excellent ratings and got a good discounts on-sale price at CW. Had to remove the door to the room for installation but no problem.

my wife use to do a lot of disaster relief with sbc and red cross. she had a cargo trailer set up with washers and dryers to do laundry for people in the disaster zone. They were residential and she never had an issue with them and I can tell you that single axle cargo trailer did some bouncing.
