Whisper Quiet Air Conditioning
I have a question about the air conditioning in our 2016 Montana 3721RL. We have not been happy with our air conditioning in our new Montana. I have read on the forum that replacing the vents can help with air flow. We have removed all of these...
which leaves us with the open hole with a grey membrane about an inch off of the opening so that leaves about an inch for the air to flow through. Is that the way it is supposed to be?

Several of us took the plastic sleeve out and trimmed about an inch off the top to allow better air flow

I took mine out turned it upside down then cut the louvers out of the cover with a dremmel cut off wheel then cut out a round piece of larger wire mesh and glued it in there in it's place and painted the mesh white looks good works great ,,WAY better air flow .. ALSO what helps is get some 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe cut them into 6 inch pieces and push them up in the return vents AND the outlets and that helps the flow as well ,Here are my pics of the mod http://s1275.photobucket.com/user/to...remw6.jpg.html

If you take those four screws out, you can pull that part f the vent out to cut the really tall round piece down. You'll also want to see how well the duct is sealed to the ceiling material. Mine had the proper aluminum hvac tape, but the workmanship was very poor and lots of air would leak into the attic...as well as the duct bottom wasn't pulled down to the ceiling to open up the duct as much as possible. Real easy to cut down the part is see being way too tall. I used a pair of heavy shears as I had them in the toolbox. Happy cutting. John

I trimmed the inserts as described above. I also installed 5 extra vents in our rig. I have way more airflow now. If you pull an insert you'll see just how easy it is to add more vents to the ducting.

Our 2013 3100rl had no air flow also. I put a video scope into system and found right and left side return air mostly crushed down. On right side what was not crushed was occluded by a rats nest of wires jammed into the race. The dealer finally removed the AC unit (thank you Keystone customer service) and remover 2 gallon bags of construction debris from the plenum and out of A/C unit itself. cleaned up the wiring and fixed the return air lines. our unit now works. Good luck with yours

I've got a 2014 3582RL and want to put a vent in the bathroom. Does anybody know if the ductwork runs over this area?

My 3610 has a vent in the bathroom, if there is a vent in the bedroom area then I would think it's safe to assume the ducting runs straight through over the bathroom where you could tap into it.

I've had 2 Montanas (3400RL & 3585SA) and both had an A/C vent in the bath.
