Hand signals class

Vickie and I will again be teaching a hand signals and backing your RV class. There is no need to sign up for the class but it is important that you attend as a couple because backing up is a team sport so plan on attending together. You will get a lot more out of the lesson that way. See you at the rally.

Great news! This was my favorite presentation at last year’s rally.

As I have mentioned before, I tried to teach my wife hand signals and she did learn one but I can’t talk about it in mixed company LOL

She has a Cricut machine and made me a shirt that says “Sorry about what I said while parking the camper”!

Seriously wish we could be there. Maybe she could learn from someone else.....

Ladies,
All of you that signed up for the ladies driving school, don't forget to bring your husbands to the hand signals class. Couples need to attend the class together to get the most benefit from the instruction. The driving school and the hand signals class go hand in hand to a great extent so plan on attending and we'll see you there. This is the best seminar you will attend all week if I say so myself.

I have not read all the replies but from my experience the first (2) things people need to know #1 If you can not see them in the mirror, hand signals mean nothing. #2 If you have a Loud truck (diesel) and you are older, you can not hear them unless they YELL. Been telling my wife this since 1987. I need a good set of wireless< always ON> headsets. any body have any Ideas

We just use our cellphones. She calls me on mine, and I put it on "speaker" . Works good as long as there is cell coverage.

Same here. I basically tell the wife to only say something if I’m about to hit something. If it is a tough spot not unusual for me to get out of truck and look things over 3-4 times

I bought two way radios that allow My wife to give me audio directions and also allow me to ask questions or make comments as we park our Montana

Cheap Walkies talkies, you know how sometimes things get to confusing for some even with meticulous instructions, no mistakes this way.

Several previous posters are talking of alternate means of communicating during the backing up process. They are all valid methods and whatever works for you is great. This class teaches the hand signal method for people that would like to learn and understand how to use it effectively. We'll talk pros and cons of all methods.

Hand signals work when there is no cell coverage and batteries have died....

I really wish my wife and I could attend this class. Sounds like a class that we need. I'm getting better at backing but definitely we would benefit. Just purchased a set of walkie talkie that should help for commication between me and the wife when she's behind the rig.
