John, Thanks for the information. This is something that I very well may do. Seems like it would be perfect for the times that we camp when the temps are cold outside but still above the freezing mark. When at or below freezing I think the cheap heat is the way I'm going to go since it'll run the original furnace putting heat into the basement area while on total electric. With the heat strip in the air units, I wasn't aware that the thermostat would automatically detect them. Seems like they would put something in the manual about this. Very good information though. I would ultimately like to go total electric in the Monty and not have to worry about gas except for in the oven. We don't dry camp so no worries there. Tim
