Thank you Eternabond!

One of our slide toppers started tearing along a seam in this Texas "Breeze." With some of my old cars, duct tape and wire clothes hangers once helped me keep them together. With the Montanas, there is Eternabond. This stuff holds very well in sun and wind. I used it with my first Monty for a tear in the roof and now I used it for my slide topper. It is a good idea to have a roll in the basement. I have no financial interest in this company, just wish to share how good this is. Before and after pix below.

Yes Eternabond is great stuff! I used it on our previous trailer to replace the roof caulking when it needed done. We always have some on hand. Never know when we might need it or to help someone else with a repair.

Jim,
You bring up a good point, and I travel with a roll (small) also.

I have had an awning tear exactly where yours did, on the seam. A&E covered it under warranty. I found out that had it torn anywhere else but on a seam, it would not have been covered.

So, since I'm not out of warranty, I'm wondering if taking about a 6" strip of eternabond, or that clear stuff made for awning repair, and putting it folded around at those end spots where the seam is.

What's that old saying about an ounce of prevention?

Never leave home without it. Used it to patch a black tank leak and have given out strips to other RV'ers for leaks and tears. It is expensive but a good inversment.

We used it also for our slide toppers a year ago. They are still holding strong. Love that wind!!

I also have eternabond onboard and have used it on the toppers. At lunch yesterday Wayne suggested pre-taping those seam edges to prevent tears. I like the idea.
