Big Sky
Did I miss something here, I have read a couple of comments in reference to new Big Skys. Are they coming back?

Do it Tara and Steve! Pre-Order - haahah. Just tell them your on your way to Goshen now to pick it up so hurry and build it.
I just did a search on Keystone Big Sky hoping to find pictures of the ones that are already out there as Rich said, and it came up in my search.
I'm just going to bet the one floor plan listed as a 340RLQ is a 3400RL with about 2,500 more lbs of goodies.

Brad,
GVWR is 16,150 lbs on that new Big Sky, and your right, it is going to be a 3400RL. I see they chose the standard font style for the graphics~ good choice Keystone!! I have a feeling many members are going to really like the inside as well as the outside of this baby. Oh I cant wait.....

And the MOC had a voice in the new Font for the new Big Sky. Those of us that were able to attend the MOC rally in Goshen were asked to chose between a BLOCK font and a script style. It was nearly unanimous vote or the BLOCK font. Just one more example of how the Montana folks feel about our opinions.
Just like the new sofa and the new 3485SA, the Big Sky will have it's first official showing to the public at the RV show in Tampa.

Here are the new floor plans for the Big Sky
http://www.keystone-bigsky.com/index...age=floorplans
I just got off the phone with the my salesman from the dealer here in Northern IL "Collier RV" and he told me they have two ordered. They did not handle them in the past, only Montanas. He told me that the owner saw them at the dealer show in Louisville and was really impressed. The increase in carrying capacity is due to 7000 lb mor-ryde axels, based on the specs the empty wieght is only about a 1000 lbs more than our 3400.
He also told me they were only being built on a limited basis and only going to about a dozen of their best dealers. I sure would like to see some pics.

Looks good. However, I would prefer the open floor plan equivilant to the 3670. The 350RLQ is similar, but has the doors between the living and dinning/kitchen areas which in my opinion makes it too close. Guess I will have to stay with my current Big Sky.

Nice sounding rigs - looks like as promised, they hit about halfway between the Montana and Cambridge.
12 cub foot fridge
12 gal HW Tank
Air Bed
32" TV
Still didn't pick up the 100 gal fresh water tank from the Cambridge though. Kind of upsetting they are offering the hi-gloss on the cargo doors, but wouldn't even do it by special order on the Montana.

Brad,
Cost is $7,000 more than the Montana. Did you notice the basement tv/cable hook-up?

Mama's beatin on me right now! Looks like I'll have to check it out in secret. It would be nice to see the decor - might still be able to finaggle a deal as I haven't taken delivery.

Does anyone know whether the "upgrades" listed in the product brochure for the Big Sky are all standard features, or are many of them options that you have to select just like with the Montanas? If they are standard, does anyone know what options are available on the Big Sky?
Dave--when you say that the "cost is $7,000 more," is that comparing it to the Montana 3400 with the options selected that are "upgrades" on the Big Sky [i.e., Hi gloss gelcoat, aluminum wheels, 10 cubic foot frig, king bed, etc]? Any idea what the total "cost" and MSVRP are going to be for the Big Sky 340 RLQ without nay options other than the listed "upgrades"?
As for specs, the most recent Montana 3400 I saw had a UVW of 11,800#, meaning that the shipping weight of the Big Sky 340 RLQ is only 555# heavier--so those bigger axles and heavier pin weight appear to mostly translate into a higher cargo carrying capacity rather than a significantly heavier unloaded rig. Am I reading that correctly?

David,
Those are standard features of the new Big Sky. I have the brochure in front of me with all the "Upgrades listed". I can email them to you if the link on the Big Sky page is not working. As I do not have the Retail Price Sheet for the new coach, I cannot give you an exact cost. I have been told the price increase was around $800 over last years on the Montana 3400RL, this $$ is all in the new flat panel tv as well as the upgraded surround sound unit and a few other "minor" changes that have already taken place. I am guessing if you take the price sheet you have already, add $7,000 to $8,000 you should be close. Again remember this is RETAIL PRICE, not final deal pricing.
You are reading UVW correctly, the new Big Sky is a greatly "upgraded" version of a Montana, but Keystone is still targeting the 3/4 ton to 1 ton truck owner with this coach. The weights of the Montana and upcoming Big Sky are still going to be in line with one another. As you stated, the additional carrying capacity is all in the axles.

The DW noticed there is no nite tables beside the bed in the Big Sky ? wonder why not ? Believe it or not it was one of her "must have items".
Just one of the reasons we went for a Montana over other comparable products.
