Big rear window in 2955RL in winter storage.
The big picture window at the back of my new 2955 RL has a track in the bottom for the two small sliders. This track is covered with a rubberized material that cushion and seal the slider windows.
When the weather turned damp I noticed this track would get moist.
I then noticed that this picture window has four vents in the bottom of the window on the outside to allow water in the track to drain to the outside.Residential windows all have this feature.
Cold damp air can enter these little vents and condense on the bottom inside track. I covered these little vents with thick stick on tape and now the track inside the unit stays bone dry.
This condensation at the bottom vents might only happen in a high humidity climate like mine and also my big window faces north and even in our house we have more condensation on windows on the north side.
I will take the tape off the little vent slots once spring arrives.
I keep 2 buckets of the moisture absorbing material and a little 130 watt moisture remover plugged in out there and the unit is very dry.
I also keep one roof vent slightly opened.
All the other windows were dry as a bone, it was just the big picture window track that got moist and possibly this might never have been a problem because it would dry out on nice days but I was worried about mould or mildew.
I have double pane windows but single pane might have the window vents too so I thought I would share this in case anybody else had the same problem.

BillyRay, The window trim just got moist, never enough water to drain . I think you would have to be living in the unit in pretty exteme conditions to have enough water to actually drain out those vents. I will remove the tape when I use the Montana and also when Spring arrives.
The other windows don't have these little drains so I am guessing because the picture window is so big,in the right conditions it could condense enough water that would need to drain outside.
I just went out and checked on my trailer and that window trim is dry. It is about 33 F and foggy , almost 100 % humidity.
I like this Montana so much and I hope to keep it for many years. I think next year I will build a covered shelter for it. Take care and have a good day.

Those same little vents let in a surprising amount of cold on a windy day with temperatures in the teens and below. We have our windows wrapped on the outside and those vents are thus not currently open to the outside air. We've wrapped these windows three winters now and not had a problem. However, the prior two winters we wrapped windows on the inside instead of outside.
