Albuquerque
Mr. Search is not being kind to me today. Does anyone have any suggestions for the Albuquerque area for about a week in December. Visiting relatives in the NE corner of Albuquerque. Thanks, Sue and Verle C

We stayed 2 times at the High Desert RV Park last year - spaces are not huge, but comfortable I thought - although we only stayed one night each time - they do have quite a few who live there full time. The owners are very nice and if you have dogs they have dog walk pens that you can let them loose in.
Spaces are gravel but streets are nicely paved.
There are several RV parks in the area. Do you have the Trailer Life Campground Navigator CD program? It really helps to find parks.
Let me know if you want names of others?
Hope this helps,
Laura

We stay at the Hidden Valley park in the mountains right on I-40 just east of town. It is far enough off the highway so as to be quiet. Nice friendly park but not sure it is open in the December. Have also stayed at the KOA but consider it noisey and way, way over priced.

We have also stayed at Hidden Valley, easy access to I-4. Pull-thru sites and friendly as stated before.

We've stayed several times at Enchanted Trails on the west side of town. It's a Passport America park, but I think the PA rate is only good for 2 nights.

Verle and Sue, last December around Christmas and into January you couldn't have stayed at Hidden Valley RV Park. Call them to see if they are open in the winter (I would for you but we are at Ft. Fisher, NC presently). Retired military, DOD etc there is Kirtland AFB FamCamp - other than the KOA there on Central there isn't any others on the NE side. They do let you dry camp at the Casino and have seen 5th wheels at the mobile home park at Wyoming/Zuni, not that I would recommend it. The others are on the west side about 98th and I-40.
Safe travels.

We've also stayed at Enchanted Trails for a week. It is a short drive to town we would recommend this campground.

Have stayed at Enchanted Trails and consider it very average and when the wind blows there is lots of dirt as the park is mostly dirt streets and barren sites. The occassional rain does cause problems in the park. Have also stayed at American RV and it is a very nice park, with paved roads, manicured sites (and paved) plus many amenities that Enchanted Trails does not have.

We have also stayed at Enchanted trails and at American RV. Enchanted trails is part of Passport America so was cheap. But not cheap enough. Dirt was incredible. We will never stay there again even if it is free.
American RV is pretty nice. However, in the fall there is a lot of goathead weed in the park -- even in the lawns. If you have pets, be prepared to do a lot of brushing. Other than that, it is a much much better chice than Enchanted trails
