Cabela's Campground?????

Sidney Nebraska was the starting point for Cabela's and did you know that the Sidney location is the only Cabela's location with a Full Service campground? Well it is and we did stay there. Cabela's store and campground is just off I-80 at the Sidney exit #59. The campground looked brand new but is actually 10 or 15 years old. The place was spotless and well maintained. Gravel roads and sites with plenty of well trimmed grass for your patio. Also a very clean modern laundry. Within walking distance of the Cabela's store and numerous eating places such as Perkins, Micky D's, Arby's and even a Chinese Buffet. Just across the road is a car wash with a bay big enough for your Monty.
The cost for a full hookup WITH cable TV is just $25 a night. With Good Sam just 22.50.
Now I know that you can also overnight on the Cabela's parking lot for free but for 22.50 a night we stayed 2 nights with electric for the A/C, water, sewer, cable TV and Lorraine did the laundry.

CLICK HERE and scroll down to Store/Area Extras: and click on Campground.

We stayed there one time. Nice park. Only downside was the 18 wheelers who came in the parking lot next to the campground all night long. We had fun going through the store also. A wonderful display of stuffed animals and fish etc.

Yes there were a lot of 18 wheelers in the store parking area but we never heard one of them in the park.

Could be we are getting so used to being next to interstates and/or railroads we no longer hear them. Guess we will find out when we get to Goshen.

These are good things to know. Thanks for the info. As for the noise, DW and I joke about how to find a RV park. "Drive down the interstate until you locate a Waffle House, look for the railroad tracks, and pull in." On several of our trips we have noted these proximities and have been able to "enjoy" the sounds of trucks and trains all night long and be able to have breakfast served too. Bob

On edit: in Biloxi they throw in the Air Force base that all of the weather spotters fly out of. Hope that park rebuilds from Katrina.
