Battery Life Span 2012 Montana 2455SA, Slides?
I picked up my 2012 Montana 3455SA in Nov 2011. My slides are having,
at times, seem to be straining going in. I am told my batteries might be failing. Any ideas?? Any lubrication, or how to check my batteries.
We are Full Timers, travel alot in summer, couple days at one spot

You can take your battery(s) to an auto parts store and they can check it(them) for you. I replaced my one battery after 5 years. The slides were starting to move slower, but picked back to normal speed with the new battery.
Make sure the battery water level is OK. Use distilled water if needed.
Many of us use a dry lube on the slides. I use a dry lube spray with PTFE from Home Depot and spray the rack and pinions and any other moving parts I can see. But I am not sure Lippert or Keystone requires even that. Just don't use an oil based lube. It will attract dirt, dust, and grit.

I use a dry lube on my slide mechanism and check the water in my batteries every month. You should also check the connections on your battery or batteries. Corrosion can build up on the connections and reduce the battery's ability to send current down the line.

If your battery isn't fully charged the slides will move slowly or not at all. Moving the slides draws a lot of amps.
You'll find that the slides operate much better if using a generator or plugged in to shore power.

Bill is right on, if you don't have the tools and expertise to test the batteries under load, or a hydrometer, take the battery..or batteries, in and have them checked. My suggestion would be a battery shop, as sometimes you get an inexperienced sales-person in an auto shop.

After purchasing our 09 last Nov the slides were "struggling" to move. I had a new battery installed upon the purchase. After lubing the slide mechanisms they operate so much smoother. I highly recommend lubrication.
Also lubing the front legs will be beneficial. I found that my legs were dry and showed signs of excessive wear.

I also just purchased a 2010 2455SA and found my unit having problems extending and retracting at a certain point. If the unit it having problems going in (down), I would suspect the landing gear is bent or binding. That was exactly my issue. I replaced both of my legs and did find that the lead leg was binding bad. So that fixed my issue, although I did expect the legs to extend a bit faster?

If the original batteries, you have gotten more than an average life out of them.
