Ron and Rose,
I'd start by checking some of the "auction" sites. You can find some good deals from time to time. Other RVing Forums are also a good place to look. Escapees from time to time has some pretty good deals. One of the more competitive commercial places is Mayberry's. They are located in New Jersey but I got mine there and got a good deal on shipping. Now a days even local places can be very competitive. Of course you can always get one while at Q. But they can sometimes be a bit higher than other places. Good luck. Dennis

Try Mayberry at mayberrys.com. They have one of the best prices on the 2000i, $899 in my latest amateur radio magazine, and they have free shipping.

There is a Honda place in Ukiah, CA. that claims to have the best prices.

Other things to consider when ordering: if you plan on using two tied together, you'll need the cable and panel kit. Additionally, if you plan on running two, consider an additional gas tank. Some of the add on tanks come with new caps for the generators, while others come with replacement parts to convert your existing caps. Last, you might also want to get covers. The advantage to ordering this stuff together is saving on shipping, plus having a single source to direct questions to if needed.

I bought mine from motorsports of Ukiah, as Debbie mentioned. http://www.motosportsofukiah.com/
Good experience.

Ron,
Remember that out of state purchases have no tax. This may have changed since I purchased anything on the internet. And as Bob said "free" shipping. Happy hunting, Dennis.

Hi, We bought ours from http://www.wanagenerators.com/ They are in shipshewana Ind. As well as I remember shipping was free and no tax. I think they were the same price as wise and the others, alot cheaper than CW. Give them a call and see.

Sofar the dealer in Ukiah is the lowest price at $879.00, but I would have to pay tax because they are in CA & I live in CA. They wanted from $750.00 to $900.00 for most the used ones I saw online. I have found them as low as $919.00 with no tax from out of state. I might just buy from the CA. dealer and spend an extra $20.00 to help our local economy and give the state a little more tax money.

I have a Honda EU2000i Companion, just looking for a EU2000i to connect it to.

Wise Equipment had best prices when I went shopping last year. Ended up with a Yamaha 3000 with boost. Both great machines just liked the full features and remote start. Also very quiet at 49 Decibles !

Ended up getting the Honda EU2000i and the paralle cables from Wana Engine Center in Shipshewana, IN
for $957.00 total. It was the best deal I could find for a California legal Honda 2000.

Got our 2000i and the 2000i Companion at wisesales.com. Best price I could find online, and the local Honda generator dealer wouldn't or couldn't match their price.

Mike,
We have to have different gas caps. The have an on/off cap that must prevent some sort of polution (?). My John Deere lawn tractor has a different fuel system for California only. Gas cans now have to have a special pour spout (that leaks most of the time). It's just plain nuts.

$899 at Speedway, 888-617-7333, New Berlin,WI. Free shipping. I decided to buy a Yamaha, so I didn't deal with Speedway, but I had contacted them prior to the Yamaha decision. They have an Ad in Trailer Life most issues.

For California models, there is a different gas cap. Something about venting or not venting. There is an additional rotating lever on the generator's gas cap that you move to the ON position when using the unit and rotate to OFF when not using the generator. Apparently generators used or purchased out of California have a much simpler fuel cap that does not have this rotating lever. In both cases, the same unleaded fuel can be used. Only the cap is different for California models.

Leave it to California to add cost to everything. So anyone coming from out of California will use their nonconforming unit without penalty. I guess the reasoning is that it would be more rare than the 1000s of California residents using their compliant units.

I purchased mine in New Mexico and it has the cap with the lever on it too. I thought it was a great idea to be able to turn off the vent while not using it.
