recommendations for air compressor

Anyone have an air compressor they'd like to recommend? Also, if my Montana tires require 80 psi, what is the minimum power (psi) I should look for in a compressor? Thanks.

I would reccomend getting a 110v one. The 12v ones are wimpy at best. They will get You out of a jam (I do carry one) but I would not rely on one for all the time use. Most are rated to run for about 10 min. before they overheat and need to rest. An inexpensive small one can be bought at Home Depot or Lowe's but don't rule out Costco or BJ's.

I have a Truckair 12volt which is available at Camping World or Walmart. It is rated for 275psi and is supposed to be able to run long periods of time. It is great for lower pressures but to get a tire from 45 to 80 takes a while. I'm with NJ Hillbilly, I think a small 110 would do a better job.

I have a small 110v compressor I carry in the basement. It's available at Walmart although I bought this one elsewhere. It shuts off at 100 to 110 psi. I aired a tire up from 68.5psi to 80 psi the other day and it took maybe two minutes, maybe three total. Problem with mine is there's a small leak and the tank will leak down on its own but the compressor keeps up with it when turned on so I haven't gone looking for the leak yet.

What i use is the "power tank"Its a fairly small tank that is filled with co2.The psi goes up to 200psi.It will fill 39 class A tires on one tank. You can refill the tank at any welding shop for around 12 bucks. This tank fills in seconds.I really love it.i keep it in the front storage compartment. It comes with a 25 foot air hose.I can reach all the tires on my Montana with ease. Also greast for the truck tires as well.Check it out at "www,powertank.com"
