Spring fling

We are going full time in the spring and have lots of questions. We will be trading our trailer in for a Montana3295RK, and trading our Ram in for a 3500 Ram diesel. The Ram we looked at says it has a tow package. Is that just the basic tow package, hitch, battery and lights hookup? Will we need a certain gear ratio rear end? Is an automatic better than manual shift? Can we purchase our Montana direct from the factory? That is all our questions for right now. See you on the road soon.

Great posting. I will try to answer a few of your questions. First automatic is the only way to go. The Ram diesel will be enough power for the coach you are purchasing. I would get four wheel drive if possible. The tow package should be ordered. I think you will have to order through a dealer for your coach. But I could be wrong. Enough of my two cents. Keep us posted. happyrving.......

The tow package should have the 2 in reciever on the back of truck & trans cooler & a seven way rec. on back of truck but not the 5ver hitch.

Welcome aboard. The suggestion that you get the 4X4 is a good one.
Some campgrounds do not have rock or concrete slabs and if it is
wet, the weight of the rig sometimes makes the truck slip and slide.

As for the gear ratio on the rear end, your literature on the truck
of choice should give the recommended ratio for towing a trailer.
Fuel economy is affected.

Travel safe.
