The Fourth Season - White it is

I know, I know most of you will think I and others are nuts for wanting to be around anywhere there is snow. Everything is not right with the world if I do not get to experience the four seasons.

It snowed overnight and is still snowing, out came the quad to plow the driveway and sidewalk, with the Montana nestled in a blanket of white.

I can now go to Arizona at the end of January and be happy for a wee while until it is time to return for the Spring season.

Yep, the older I get the less use I have for cold weather and everything that comes with it.

I miss it sometimes, but then I have another drink on the patio and come to my senses.

The nice thing about our part of the country Jimmy is that we don't get long stints of cold or snow. Ours will be gone again in a few days and it is not supposed to be white for Christmas.

If my DW had her way we would already be in Arizona enjoying the sun and warm, so my friend I have to keep her somewhat happy and give her a couple of months of winter in the warmth of Arizona.

I would not want to again live where winter starts in October and ends in April, here on the Coast we enjoy the times we get snow and the snow and rain are what gives this part of the country such an abundant variety of flora and fauna.

I will wave at you again this year as I pass Sequim Jimmy and appreciate you giving your all to keep the home fires burning here in the NW... You are my hero....

You are correct, AZ has all of those things. Just collected a tarantula for a display in the visitor center on Thursday. On the other hand they don't have tornados.

Those are nasty pictures Ed and exactly why we get out of Northern Ohio for the winter. Our Montana is nestled in a blanket of sunshine.

Personally, I like the change of seasons. But that doesn't mean I don't get tired of this one before it's over.

I have been there done that with long winters. Our snowfall of a few days ago is rapidly melting and I expect everything will be green again by Christmas. So we can live with snow and colder temps for a week at a time perhaps a couple of times through the winter months. We get to experience all four seasons and winter being the one some might like least is short lived. The best of all worlds.

I have heard everyone say it, and the DW and I have said it....."we just love the changing seasons"....."it just isn't Christmas without the snow". We left behind frozen black tank issues, burning through 30lbs of propane per week, and shoveling snow off the slids. It was 70 degrees when I got up this morning and it is suppose to be 78 degrees on Christmas day. We have officially made the transition to warmer weather and it took about an hour to change our mindset.
