AM/FM antenna help needed?

I have a JVC DVD audio/video player that came with my Montana and have not been happy with the radio side of the system. The player has both a AM and FM antenna wire attached to the back.

We will get great reception from the radio in the truck but lousy signals from the JVC. In fringe areas there are time we can't get any FM stations in the rig.

Is there any way to attach an outside auto type antenna to the 2 antenna leads and mount on the outside of the rig? I can come up with the antenna mount but how do can I hook up the leads to it and will it work?

Thanks for any help.
Will be in Q in about a week

Dick, I really believe that the "sound system" is one thing that the Chinese farmed out to a lower bidder. The AM radio towers are almost within sight of the stick house, and it couldn't recieve a useable signal.I kept the unit only for the dvd player. I installed a car radio above the dvd/am,fm sys.
Also mounted a car antenna on the roof. Bill

I just use an XM radio as the FM/AM signal is almost never there.

Dick,
Ours has a coax style antenna fitting on it so I put a splitter in the tv cable and ran cable over to the radio. Works fine for FM. We'll be in the circle on the 10th

I had the same problem. I mounted a side mount antenna just out side the entetanment center. It was an easy install and a short run for the wire.
I'll be a q-zite if you would like to see.

I had the same problem. I found that if I turned on the amp for the TV in the bedroom closet with the TV antenna up I got FM stations.
