Lubricating landing gear fixes

This weekend I was rebuilding the motorised side landing gear and have found a few quick fixes. First, to get the Lithium grease to the tubing spiral spindal, drill a 1/8" hole at 5" and 11" from top of square leg. Use the Lithium spray can grease (auto supply store)with the nozzle and shoot some grease to the spindal. Now spray some grease to the top gears and close cover. 2nd, if you need to replace the spring pin to the 45 degree gear, I found them at Fastenal for 25 cents each. The size is 7/32". Everywhere else I looked I found only 3/16" and 1/4", either to small or too fat.

Adding a note to the above landing gear repairs. When replacing the 7/32" tension spring pin to the gear cog shaft. Grind one end to a longer taper to help start and drive into gearshaft. It works better then the factory furnished (very blunt)taper on the pin. Oh yes, remember the grease when you finish. The areosal spray can of litheum works well.
