The longer I own her the less I know

Once again my monty has me frustrated. I know these are simple maybe even stupid questions, but they have me going.

2005 3475Rl with 3 slides.

1. Fuses 12 vt. I can't find a diagram of the 12 volt fuses anywhere including the book and fuse box.

2. I had to replace one of my flood lights on the outside but now I keep blowing the bulbs.

3. I had to change my whole front door lite (couldn't find a lens to match old one). Everytime I put in the last screw it would blow the fuse. So I left it out for now.

4. Wanting to install a rear hitch to carry a bike. Not sure if it needs to be welded to the frame or what.

Guess thats enough for now. Would sure love any help I can get to sort these out.

2005 3475Rl with 3 slides.

1. Fuses 12 vt. I can't find a diagram of the 12 volt fuses anywhere including the book and fuse box. There is NONE.

2. I had to replace one of my flood lights on the outside but now I keep blowing the bulbs. This one makes me think there is a bad wire causing high current draw. However, I can not explain why. I would pull the light and check the wire connections.

3. I had to change my whole front door lite (couldn't find a lens to match old one). Everytime I put in the last screw it would blow the fuse. So I left it out for now. The last screw has to be going into the positive 12Volt wire and shorting out the circuit blowing the fuse. Pull the light and relocate the wiring.

4. Wanting to install a rear hitch to carry a bike. Not sure if it needs to be welded to the frame or what.I had an after market hitch bolted on to the rear. I later had it welded to eliminate addition movement/flexing. One member had Mor/ryde install a hitch and they welded it in place. Nice solid job. Keystone told me no more than 300 pounds back there.

Guess thats enough for now. Would sure love any help I can get to sort these out.
Hope these help and I am sure others will be around with more suggestions.

For the blowing flood lamp problem, next time you replace the bulb...don't touch it with bare fingers. Wear a glove or use a baggie to handle the bulb. The oils on your fingers could be causing a hot spot on the glass which cracks the glass blowing the bulb.

Hi

Follow Kohl’s good advice.

The only thing to add to this is. After correcting the problem with the screw you didn’t put in making sure your negative or ground wire is tight and making good contact. A loose or intermittent ground will cause bulbs to fail early.
